This game looked 50-50 to me until Rodwell got sent off. Jack’s straight red looked stone cold until replays revealed it didn’t look as harsh as it did in real time. I think Everton have recourse to appeal. In the meantime Liverpool then dominated against Everton’s ten men. But it wasn’t until the 71st minute until Liverpool score their first. After the second 11 minutes later it was done and dusted. For a team that bought no-one in the summer, Everton played well. I think they’ll continue to surprise.

Brighton & Hove Albion 1-2 Liverpool

Liverpool weren’t exactly completely dominant. Brighton fought hard in the second half and played an excellent passing game. -
Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 Liverpool
18th September 2011 - White Hart Lane - Premier League
Liverpool didn’t seem to turn up on the pitch until half an hour into the game. Incorrect tactics gifted Bale and Modric far too much space and Liverpool paid dearly. A game best forgotten. -
